Mobilising common biocultural heritage for the socioeconomic inclusion of small farmers: panarchy of two case studies on quinoa in Chile and Bolivia

Présentation en quelques lignes Cet article rend compte de deux projets de recherche-action participative centrés sur la valorisation du patrimoine bioculturel agricole par des communautés paysannes de Bolivie et du Chili. Le cadre conceptuel intégrateur de la panarchie est utilisé pour analyser la dynamique multi-scalaire et multi-agents des changements opérant depuis l'unité familiale jusqu'au circuit commercial local ou international. Dans les deux cas présentés, la valorisation du patrimoine bioculturel comme bien commun contribue à la durabilité inclusive de l'agriculture paysanne et questionne la vulnérabilité des territoires et des communautés locales face aux changements globaux du climat et des échanges commerciaux. This article reports on two participatory action research projects focusing on the valorisation of agricultural biocultural heritage by peasant communities in Bolivia and Chile. The integrative conceptual framework of panarchy is used to analyse the multi-scalar and multi-agent dynamics of changes operating from the family unit to the local or international trade circuit. In both cases, the valorisation of biocultural heritage as a common good contributes to the inclusive sustainability of peasant agriculture and questions the vulnerability of territories and local communities to global changes in climate and exchanges.
